An Outdoor Wedding

What a wonderful time of year to have an outdoor wedding! We attended one last weekend
 and it was beautiful. Here are a few shots to share.

Lamp Rescued.

My sister picked up this lamp at Salvation Army...she had a plan.

She taped and painted...and painted.

{Many light coats of spray paint.}

Shells and jute were added.

More shells, glass beads, and a little bling.

{The small outlining shells were actually already on fishing wire.}

She ordered a rectangular shade and really liked the look...but it arrived damaged.

So she used some fabric she had on hand and remade the shade.

Finished product with linen lamp shade and starfish finial!

I think it looks fabulous!

My sister made the cutest tassels!
This first one was orginally a Christmas ornament.



I think it's perfect for Fall, but I'll bet it stays out all year long.

Her second tassel was actually a salt shaker she found at an antique shop. It didn't have a mate {or I would have picked it up!}

Aren't they both precious!

My Hero

My Hero

My hero was the quiet type

No marching bands, no media hype.

But through my eyes, it was plain to see

A hero, God sent to me.

With gentle strength and quiet pride

All self concern was set aside.

To reach out to our fellow man

And be there with a helping hand.

Heros are a rarity

A blessing to humanity

With all they give and all they do

I'll hope the thing he always knew

He was my quiet hero...yes daddy, it was you.

The Last Weekend of Summer

It's been a great summer.

One filled with family and friends.

To celebrate the season, I used some of my favorite shells for a tablescape.

The table is set for four, but just in case we have a few visitors, we're ready!
