Table for one...

I'm officially smitten with vintage linens.

I'll admit it here to the world.

I appreciate the hand-work, 

the creativity, 

and the time it takes to make these special pieces of art.

Today I'm featuring a piece I picked up this past week from my favorite antique mall.

It was in great shape, only one small spot.

I've used OxiClean for blemishes and recently heard hydrogen peroxide works very well too.

Have you tried something different?

It's a square piece, cross-stitched with gorgeous colors.

I love the design, the pattern, the border.

Today's table is set for one...a quiet breakfast.

After a few very busy days, sometimes it's nice to just take a breath and relax.

The delicately etched dishes were found separately but matched perfectly...

...and the cups were found at a favorite shop in the Texas hill country.

Treasure hunting is great therapy, isn't it?

Happy Valentine's Day 2014

Happy Valentine's Day! 

Last week we talked about our favorite parts of tablescaping: 

 the dishes, various centerpieces, and the wide array of accessories.

We all love "playing" with our dishes and being creative with our treasures.

One of my other favorite parts about tablescaping is visiting everyone and seeing their tables.

I am constantly amazed and inspired!

This week's table began with vintage valentines and Bavarian dishes.

These valentines are from my grandmother and are dated from the early 1900's.

I'm smitten with them...

...and their messages.

And this little one...pre Cricut and Silhouette.

so sweet

The dishes were found at a  local antique shop...they are precious and so dainty.

The crystal is Lenox, a wedding gift.

The hyacinths, just blooming, are the simple centerpiece...

... the fragrance is just lovely and fills our home with the promise of Spring.

Tablescaping...

What's your favorite part about tablescapes?

Is it the dishes,

flatware,

stemware,

centerpieces?

My answer would be, it depends.

However, I do know that collecting has been a great part of the whole

tablescaping adventure.

As we all know, inspiration can be found just about anywhere!
