One of a Kind...

About a month ago, my sister and I were traveling and stopped at this antique/thrift store.

Would you have stopped?

I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical, however, it was a diamond in the rough.
Stuff N Such is owned and operated by the sweetest little lady. She was very proud of her shop and has everything organized and clean. If you're ever in Llano, Texas, be sure to drop in, you won't be disappointed!

Back to my story...
My sister and I were on a mission: we were looking for anything that we could turn into tassels.
She came across this cup...it was a loner. Sadly, there was no trace of any matching pieces.

The color was perfect for my home.
We turned it over and saw this stamp:

That was the selling point, I love collecting anything stamped "Bavaria."

So, here it is, about a month later.
I pulled out various trims and began to work...

...and turned the lone cup into a tassel.

From a "loner" to a "one of a kind" piece that helps to make my house a home!

I'm linking to Susan's, Between Naps on the Porch, for her Metamorphosis Monday, Martha's, TeacupTuesday, over at Martha's Favorites, and Leigh at Tales from Bloggeritaville for her Thrifty Thursday. Be sure to drop by these parties for loads of fun and inspiration!

Thrifty find...

I'm joining Leigh over at Tales from Bloggeritaville for her Thrifty Thursday. Be sure to drop by for amazing finds and loads of treasures!

I really wasn't looking for anything in particular...well, maybe some fabric, while shopping at my favorite thrift stores. No tablecloths or such this time but I did happen upon a set of water goblets. It was the ball stems and the etching that made me take a second look. Since I don't have an antique booth or etsy shop, whatever I purchase, I usually keep. And since I didn't really need any crystal stemware, I thought twice about these four. In the end, I just couldn't resist. The price was right...and they "would" match another set I already have...so I bought them. I'm glad that I did, they compliment my original set very well.

I was very curious as to the maker and price of my treasures so I went online to Ebay. The company is Import Associates and the pattern is Cascade. There were a couple listed from $14 ~ $19 a stem. {I paid $19.99 for the set.} I then ventured over to Replacements.com and found the accompanying pieces...hm...perhaps I can add a few more pieces to my new collection?

Nature and classic...

I'd like to share a wonderful blog with you, Creations From My Heart. Sherry is so very talented, you just have to drop by for a visit. She also has the cutest things in her Etsy store...everything is just dreamy!

Sherry inspired me to be creative and combine two of my favorite things, nature and classic items. I've been looking for a sugar and creamer for a while and a few weeks ago while thrifting, my mother and I and found a set. They were very tarnished, but would be perfect for my project.

Can you tell what they are? Pin cushions. Sherry uses buttons, but I've been on a seashell kick. These are on display in my dinning room on a silver tray. I just love them...they are such a conversation piece!

Thanks again Sherry for all your inspiration!

I'm joining Leigh in her Thrifty Thursday. Be sure to stop by her blog, Tales from Bloggeritaville for great thrifty tales!

New Shoppe and an old Favorite!

Have you ever passed by an interesting little shoppe on your daily routine and thought, I need to stop in there... it looks like it might have some really neat things?
Well, this past Saturday, I had a bit of extra time so I did stop. It was a cold, drizzly day and I thought, we'll at least I can get warm and stay dry.
Oh my!
I'm SO glad that I took the time to take a look. It was a charming rustic little place that was loaded with goodies!
To top things off, some of their things were on sale.
Yippee!

These guys are about 8 inches tall and were marked down from $16.00 to $10.00.
I also picked up these tortoise shell napkin rings. They were marked $5.00, but were then slashed 20%.

I ventured next to an old standby thrift store and found this bunny bowl.

Cute... just 89 cents.

I picked up this pressed glass ashtray {made in Italy} to use as a coaster for wine bottles.
99 cents

Then I saw this piece...

...looking a little closer...

...yep...Waterford!
$8.00
SOLD!

It's so much fun to go thrifting...you never know what you may find!

I'm linking with Tales from Bloggerville for Thrifty Thursday. Be sure to stop by for other amazing treasures!
